Novel-T, Technology Base/Space53, University of Twente

Novel-T is a professional one-stop-shop for business incubator and -accelerator services, and the official Valorisation Institute of the University of Twente.

Novel-T has created a regional ecosystem in which all instruments are available which are needed for advancing entrepreneurship, supporting startups (‘New Business’) and innovative SMEs and mid-cap entrepreneurs (‘Next Business’). Novel-T thus supports entrepreneurship and innovation in all ways possible.

The infrastructure and specific knowledge of Technology Base / Space53 concentrates on the development, testing and training of unmanned systems in the air, on the ground and in the water (e.g. cars, drones, submersibles) used in the industrial maintenance and inspection domain. It facilitates development and testing of systems in more controlled environments (e.g. the former airbase and the Safety Campus) to low-controlled environments such as neighborhoods in cities. The Living Smart Campus of the UT blends the two types of environments. Space53 also aids in consortium forming between companies and knowledge institutes for larger projects, and has since its founding in 2015 realized more than €8M in project value for associated companies and institutes.
